If he had not been born today we would not have had the opportunity to stand on this platform and serve the country as a government official, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Secretary or Minister. I am remembering the innocent child Sheikh Russell who had to give his life at the hands of a murderer that day. The main purpose of the discussion on the occasion of Mourning Day is to highlight the life style of Bangabandhu, his political philosophy and his career. We lost Bangabandhu in the night Our local heroic freedom fighter Ajay Dasgupta has elaborated on his entry into the dark ages of Bangladesh for 21 long years in the absence of Ngabandhu. The special guest Hon'ble President Hon'ble Member of Parliament Mr. AKM Rahmat Ullah MP has summarized his remarks. I would like to mention a few things. I would like to ask those of you who are present in our HSC auditorium here today if any member of your family is a victim of murder, would you not seek legal recourse if your father, your mother or your brother is a victim of murder? You have no right to seek justice but after the night of August 15, 1975, the murderer Ziaur Rahman who came to power issued the dishonest Khandaker Mushtaq Indemnity Ordinance to the effect that the murder of the Father of the Nation cannot be tried. They turned that ordinance into a law with a stigma of 21 years of lack of justice in Bangladesh A country that has to be known to the world that cannot be brought to justice after killing the father of the nation has passed the law again. The spirit of the war of liberation has been hidden from all these for two generations on the other hand Bangabandhu
